The family esate agency firm reached back to 1856
My father took over the firm after the second world war, and also became an agent for The Abbey National (now Santander). My brothers took over the firm and I followed a different path, setting up my mortgage business in 2006.
My father had been injured in a shooting accident before the war, both of which he thankfully survived and he was quite single minded and talked about estate agency 24/7. I learned an awful lot about property and key lessons about customer service and ethics. He knew his customers and was unfaltering about being fair and honest, which is the way we work today in Tapper Financial Services.
It took years for the FCA to put together the Treating Customers Fairly and Know Your Client protocols that guide the way all brokers now work. All they had to do was talk to my Dad! :-)
